Wine and Snacks in Venice: Andar per ombre e cicheti
Andar per Ombre (literally ‘strolling in shadows’) means to go to drink a nice glass of wine, in the company of good friends. Venice, perhaps more than any other place in Italy, is the city where wine culture is the most established. During the early 20th century, the ‘City of the Dogi’ had more that 1200 wine shops, businesses and inns. Today, the ‘bàcari’ – the traditional bars – are still the centre of much of the social and cultural life of Venice and are very interesting places to visit.
